AMD MI300 Series Hackathon

We are thrilled to announce the AMD MI300 Series Hackathon, taking place from 27th to 29th of May 2025 in Edinburgh.
This three-day, in-person event is designed for software developers eager to explore the potential of AMD GPUs for research and innovation.
The hackathon will focus on porting and optimising code using the latest AMD development suite. Whether you're an expert practitioner or a less experienced user, this event offers a unique opportunity to:
- Convert CPU-focused codes into efficient GPU-ready applications.
- Enhance the performance of current GPU-based codes using AMD’s next-gen MI300x GPU cards or the new MI300A APU superchip.
Participants will work closely with AMD experts and have access to exclusive AMD resources. In-house experts from the ARCHER2 team will also be on hand to provide guidance and support. The hackathon will include:
- Hands-on sessions with AMD technology specialists.
- Guidance from ARCHER2 RSE and technical teams.
- Opportunities to share ideas, develop good practices, and test new software and hardware.

Applications must be submitted by 31st March 2025, AoE. Please submit one application per team. We recommend teams of 2-5 members.
