Hello EIDF community,
I'm Magdalena, the new Collaboration Manager for the Edinburgh International Data Facility (EIDF). I am thrilled to be part of this vibrant community and eager to engage with each of you in the exciting times ahead.
My role is to act as a bridge between your needs and EIDF's capabilities. Your role is crucial in shaping the future of our services and offerings. I am committed to fostering an active and engaged community around our current services and exploring opportunities to expand our offerings based on your feedback and emerging needs.
My background
Prior to joining EIDF, I worked as a Customer Development Manager for DMPonline, a data management software. This involved growing the community and engagement with the software from an initially free service to a subscription-based one. My experiences at DMPonline formed my strong belief in shaping services around user needs and feedback, a principle I will carry forward in my work at EIDF.
Before that, I was part of the Urban Big Data Centre (UBDC) at the University of Glasgow, where I was deeply involved with user communities accessing and publishing datasets. My responsibilities included improving dataset metadata, compiling user stories, and ensuring proper data licensing agreements. This role honed my skills in building smooth, effective services and fostering user engagement - skills that I see as vital in my new role as your collaboration manager.
Looking ahead
I look forward to reaching out to many of you and meeting you. I'm particularly excited about discussing how EIDF's current and future resources can support your research and innovation endeavours. Whether it's at upcoming events, conferences, or any other opportunities where we might meet, I am keen to explore how we can collaborate effectively.
Your voice matters
Your ideas and suggestions are invaluable to us. If you have thoughts on how we can improve, new service requests, or want to chat about possibilities, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Your active participation and feedback are crucial for our community's growth and the enhancement of our services.
I am here to listen and learn from you. Your insights and experiences are invaluable in ensuring that EIDF meets and exceeds your expectations.
I am truly excited about the potential of collaboration and what can be achieved together. I look forward to the journey ahead and the innovative solutions we will create.
